25 Aug. 2016 – The I.S.K.F. Lebanon delegation came back glorious from the karate world championship that took place in Cape Town (South Africa). 11 athletes from different categories along with 3 referees and a coach flew to the African country for the event.
The Lebanese delegation, and despite having fewer athletes than others such as the Australian, Argentinian, or Canadian one, was able to grab 7 medals: 2 golds, 2 silvers and 3 bronzes. Out of 20 participating countries, Lebanon came in 6th place in the standings.
The athletes wouldn’t have made it this far without the support of their sponsors Climate Technology, Nour, BMA Paints, Shweifaty Contracting, Optimum Invest, Saab Construction, 22 Degrees, Daikin, Araco, Dulux Paints & Lathea. They had also been training for this event for at least 6 months, going to several training camps one of which in the USA and another one in Lebanon with the international Japanese coach Hiroshimi Okasaki so their success comes as no surprise.
