10 National Records in the Lebanese Swimming Championship

31 Aug. 2016- The second day of the Lebanese Swimming Championship first round saw 10 new national records. 517 athletes representing 26 clubs were gathered to compete in 40 swimming races and for 40 gold, silver and bronze medals.

The new records set came as follows:

  • Omar Hamati (LSA) set a new record in the 400 meters freestyle crossing the distance in 5:51.32 minutes(last record Moussa Chami 6:44.81 minutes). [category 8-9 years old]

 

  • Mohammad Rasas (Ahed) set a new record in the 200 meters backstroke crossing the distance in 2:58.40 minutes (last record Fouad Al Hares 3:06.85 minutes). [category 10-11 years old]

 

  • Ramy Ghaziri (Orca) set a new record in the 100 meters breaststroke crossing the distance in 1:13.78 minutes (last record for Charly Salemeh 1:19.25 minutes). [category 12-13 years old]

 

  • Ramy Ghaziri (Orca) set a new record in the 200 meters backstroke crossing the distance in 2:26.85 minutes (last record for Monzer Kabbara 2:37.59 minutes). [category 12-13 years old]

 

  • Mohammad Basmaty (Orca) set a new record in the 50 meters butterfly crossing the distance in 28.06 seconds (last record for Bassel Al Kaaki 28.27 seconds). [category 14-15 years old]

 

  • Rajab Beydoun (Al Jazzira) set a new record in the 400 meters freestyle crossing the distance in 4:28.05 minutes (last record for Emile Lahoud 4:28.35 minutes). [category 14-15 years old]

 

  • Simon Wanna (Al Najah) set a new record in the 400 meters freestyle crossing the distance in 4:09.12 minutes (last record for Anthony Ghosn 4:17.98 minutes). [category 18 and above]

 

  • Maroun Waked (Al Najah) set a new record in the 200 meters backstroke crossing the distance in 2:17.98 minutes (last record for Francois Ghattas 2:19.15 minutes). [category 18 and above]

 

  • Marie Khoury (Safra Marine) set a new record in the 50 meters butterfly crossing the distance in 29.79 seconds (last record for Nadia Nabhan 30.24 seconds). [category 14-15 years old]

 

  • Jennifer Rizkallah (Jamhour) set a new record in the 200 meters backstroke crossing the distance in 2:41.56 minutes (last record for Lynn Doughane 2:46.87 seconds). [category 18+ years old]
