05 Sep. 2016 – The Lebanese national fencing team continues to shine as they collect 8 new medals in the Arab Fencing Championship. The event took place in the Jordanian capital, Amman.
In the individual u15 Épée category, Marie-Joe Abou Jaoudeh of Mont La Salle grabbed the silver medal. She also won silver in the u18 age group. As for Nay Salameh, also of Mont La Salle she got the 3rd place.
Moreover, Lebanese and Asian champion Anthony Choueiry added another win to his tally. He won the Arab Fencing Championship (Épée category) after having defeated Bahraini opponent Abdel Karim Abdallah 15-2.

In the team’s u15 competition, the Lebanese men won the bronze medal in both Foil and Épée. The team consisted of 4 Mont La Salle fencers: Tarek Daccache, Joey Daou, Jason El Khoury as well as Mario Chehwan.
In addition, the women’s u15 team added two bronze medals to the Lebanese national team’s record winning the Épée and Foil. The team members were the following: Marie-Joe Abou Jaoude, Nay Salameh, Tia Abou Arraj, along with Tatiana Fernaini all from Mont La Salle.
