24 Sep. 2016 – Al Riyadi Basketball Club are representing Lebanon at the 25th FIBA Asia Championship Cup. The tournament is scheduled to take place in Chenzhou, China from the 8th of October to the 16th of October, 2016.
Riyadi will be fighting for the title without Ismail Ahmad as only 2 imports are allowed with each team. Riyadi’s line-up is the following: Wael Arakji, Joey Zalloum, Amir Saoud, Jean Abdel Nour, Ali Haidar, Roy Samaha, Fadi El Khatib with the two imports Jahmar Young and Alade Aminu.
Ten nations are taking part in this continental tournament and the draw was held in the host city Chenzhou on 1 September 2016 came as follow:

- Iran – Petrochimi
- Lebanon – Al riyadi
- India – ONGC
- Qatar – Al Rayyan
- Chinese Taipei – Pauian (or Pure-Youth)
Group B:
- Iraq – Al Shorta

- China – Xinjang Flying Tigers
