08 Sep. 2015 – With the end of the 38th Rally of Lebanon, the Automobile Clubs in the MENA world (Middle East and North Africa) that are affiliated to the International Automobile Federation (FIA), held a meeting at ATCL lead by the Vice-President of the International Automobile Federation Nasser KHALIFA AL ATTIYA.
Imad LAHOUD, the regional coordinator and delegates from 12 clubs in the region attended this meeting, where they all discussed the Motorsports in the region and ways of developing the sport in the future. They also agreed on adding the Drifting contest to the future calendars in the Area. An event that they want to organize under the supervision of the International Federation and according to the rules of the FIA. The calendar includes 10 Stages that are going to be held in the following countries: Qatar, Bahrain, UAE, KSA, Oman, Lebanon, Jordan, Morocco and Tunisia.
They also discussed the Middle East championship especially the Hill Climb Race. They also approved the calendar of the Middle East Rally Championship for next year that will be as follows: Qatar Rally (February 5-6), Kuwait Rally ( March 24-27), Rally Iranian Shiraz (May 26-27), Lebanon (September Rally 2-3-4), Cyprus Rally (September 24-25), Jordan Rally (October 13-15), Rally Oman (October 4-5) Rally Dubai (November 25-27).
