Carlos Chamas wins the Arab Bank ITF Junior Tennis Doubles

05 Oct. 2016 – A large number of Lebanese Tennis players took part in the Arab Bank ITF Junior Tennis Tournament that was held in Lebanon from the 28th of September to the 2nd of October 2016 on a Clay surface.

Carlos Chamas teamed up with Mousa Alkotop from Jordan in the men’s doubles and the two players were able to win the category after defeating Ali Dawani from Bahrain and Armin Rostami from Iran in 2-1 (6-2 2-6 [10-6]).

We should not that this is an international competition and that it is not only for the Arab countries. 

In the semi finals, the duo defeated Herman Hoeyeraal from Norway and Valentin Royer from France in  7-6(6) 3-6 [11-9]. In the quarter finals, they defeated Roey Tabet and Ralph Tohme from Lebanon in 2-0.

On the other hand, Tamim Hallak from Lebanon was able to reach the quarter finals in the men’s singles, before losing to the french player Valentin Royer in 2-0.

Five young women took part in the women’s singles Sara Nassif, Gaelle Bou Abdo, Nour Dib, Yara Fayssal and Anna Maria Hayek, but couldn’t win any game. But in the women’s doubles, Yara Fayssal teamed up with Sadaf Sadeghvaziri from Iran and were able to go to the semi-finals where they lost to Donia Abdel-Aziz from Great Britain and Zainab Bendahhou from Morocco in 2-0.
