16 Oct. 2016 – The Lebanese Table Tennis Federation organized the Lebanese Cup in Mont La Salle, Ain Saade, from the 10th of October to the 15th.
Mariana Sahakyan (Nadwe Kamatye) won the Women’s cup after defeating Noel Kechichian (Homenetmen) in two sets. Maysa Bseibes (antranik) came in third place after defeating Jennifer Khayat (Homenetmen).
In the men’s category, getting to the final was not an easy game. Mohamad Habech (Al Riyadi) was playing under the support of his family. The voice of his young daughter shouting “Yala Daddy Fight!” was an amazing thing. He was able to defeat Mohamad Hamiye (Nadwe Kamatiye) who’s training in Germany and who was able to defeat Avo Momjoughlian in an early game.
Mohamad Hamiye ended in third place and Avo Momjoughlian (Homenetmen) took 4th place. The final game was between Mohamad Habech and Joseph Chalhoub (Fadi El Akdas), who have been playing against each others for years now! The game ended in 3-2 for Joseph Chalhoub who won the men’s cup.
