05 Nov. 2016 – Our Lebanese boys Chafic Saliba and Joe Azzi took part in the Arab Universities Beach Volleyball Championship. These athletes made sure to raise the national flag very high.
Their journey in the championship began with a first game and a first win against Jordan. They forced their opponents to play at their pace which granted them the win 2-0. (21-14, 21-16)
Game 2 for our champions was as good as game 1. Their hard work and dedication along with their experience and rigorous training gave them the edge needed to overcome their Palestinian opponents. They won the game 2-0 both sets ending 21-8. This made it two out of two for Saliba and Azzi.
Unfortunately for our boys, game 3 did go as planned. They played real tough but the conditions did not play in their favor. Despite winning the first set, they were not able to keep up their pace as exhaustion took its toll on the Lebanese athletes making UAE clinch the win 2 sets to 1. (21-11, 18-21, 10-15)
Their next game will be played against Morocco so make sure to show your unconditional support, they need it!
