04 Dec.2016– As round 1 finished today with Tadamon defeating Hoops, here is the best Lebanese lineup.
At point guard, Rodrigue Akl made the cut as he was an essential player in his team’s OT win against Mouttahed. With 11 assists and 18 points, he was a reliable player throughout the game.
The shooting guard spot went to Mazen Mneimneh, for his fighting spirit and unselfish plays. Mazen was impressive against title holders Riyadi, never losing hope for any ball as he had 4 offensive rebounds from his total of 7. Add to that 2 steals, 2 assists and 9 points, you can’t but acknowledge his influential role.
Fadi El Khatib was a clear choice at small forward. A commanding presence wherever he goes. With 11 points from his total 20 in the last quarter, he was the go-to guy every time his team needed a bucket and managed to secure the victory at the end.
Newcomers Mayrouba shocked most of us as they humbled Sagesse at home. One of their heroes was Tom Ammar who scored 17 points along with 9 rebounds and 2 assists. A great performance from Tom which lands him the power forward spot in this lineup.
The big guy in this lineup is Ali Fakher El Din. Rolling back the years, Ali had 10 points, 7 rebounds and added 3 steals and 2 blocks in a dominating performance to edge past Hoops at home.
Now it’s your time dear readers, if you don’t agree with this lineup, to share with us yours in the comment box below.
