13 Feb.2017- After a mesmerizing career as a player, Abdo Chidiac took on a new adventure to share his love and understanding of the game with the upcoming generations.

Known for his early days at Sagesse, winning the first Lebanese championship and cup after the war in 1993, Abdo was one of the best defenders in the game. Even more his offensive skills were always on display as he made the shortlist of top 5 scoring players in the league in numerous occasions.

He then moved on to represent Champville and Antranik making both of them real contenders. He wore our National team colors since he was 18 years old till he retired internationally at 36.

A coaching career was looming in the horizon as Abdo took the reigns at the American International School in Kuwait. He has been their coach for the last 7 years taking them from one level to another, till they tasted gold this year after a 21 year drought. They won the all American Schools in Kuwait tournament. The highest level in basketball. His work and ethics were on display everytime his team was performing. It’s worthy to mention that Abdo was the only Arab coach.

To make things even better, Abdo was able to share his success with his son Abboud. A promising young man with great shooting ability and enormous potential at just 16 years old, standing at 1.88 m. It seems basketball runs in the Chidiac family, as even his daughter won the JV championship with her school. Abdo’s mentor was his older brother, Dr.Adel Chidiac, a main reason why Abdo and Bahjat love and play this game.  Adel’s son, also 16, had a place at the top of the podium winning the British school conference with his school BSK.

Lebanese talent always making us proud abroad.
