14 Oct. 2015 – Under the supervision of the International and Asian Tennis Federations, the Lebanese Tennis Federation is organizing two tournaments: the West Asian Championship and the Central Asian Championship in Tennis for the under 14.
The first tournament will start today, October 14th and will end on October 17th, and the second one will start on the 19th and will end on October 22. The tournaments consist of both the Singles and the Doubles.
The International and Asian Federations designated the Iranian Amir BOURAJI to supervise the tournaments and they also assigned Ernest FALIHAN from Lebanon as the director of both Championships and his compatriot Tanios KENAAN as a general referee.
40 Tennis players from eight different countries are taking part in this championship: Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Syria, UAE and Lebanon.
The Lebanese team consists of: Richard HAJJ (men’s coach), Jalal SADEK, Mario AZAR, Edward LAHOUD, Andre ALFTERIADOS, Moustafa NATOUR and Christopher SAYEGH (Men Players). Ibrahim CHALAH (women’s coach), Nour DIB, Miriam MASSOUD, Anna Maria HAYEK and Leticia RISK (Women Players).
Regarding the points the players will earn during those tournaments and that will be added to their Asian Ranking, the first will earn 300 points, the second 200 points, the third 150 points, the fourth 120 points, the 5th 90 points, the 6th 80 points, the seventh 70 points, the eighth 60 points, the ninth 50 points and the 10th will finally earn 45 points.
In the doubles, the first will earn 200 points, the second 130 points, the third will earn 80 points and the fourth team will earn 40 points.
