14 Oct. 2015 – While a win would have made Lebanon much closer to 2nd place in group G at the 2018 Russia/2019 UAE qualifiers, a 0-0 draw with Kuwait was still better than a defeat, as Lebanon’s chances of grabbing second place are still alive.
The game between the two teams took place in Kuwait, with the home team unable to break the Cedars’ defense all 90 minutes long and thus falling to a 0-0 draw. This result keeps Kuwait 3 points above Lebanon with our national team’s next game being against Laos on November 12.
Lebanon needs to win all of its remaining games and hope Kuwait fall to a defeat and a draw at least, in order to grab second place.
