21 Oct. 2015 – While surfers from around Lebanon gather to ride the waves off the Lebanese coast, some hidden talents that no one knows of watch them quietly.
That is precisely the case with Ali, a young Syrian boy who’s family name is unknown. Ali used to go up the hill and watch the surfers do what they do best, for a couple of months before anyone noticed.
Later on, after getting the hang of it on his own, Ali got himself some foam and shaped a tear drop board. This board looks like one for surfing but is actually not functional. When he tried getting it into the water, people from “Surf Lebanon” called him and asked him what he was trying to do as he had no leg rope and his board would just break under the first wave. The young boy told them he wanted to surf, and it turns out he knew how to do it just by watching the professionals do it!
This story dates back to April and the people from “Surf Lebanon” gave him a wetsuit so he can handle the cold water, in addition to letting him grab any board from their shack.
Now, they are helping him develop and give him all sort of stuff to help, as he is only 13 and extremely talented.
