1 Nov. 2015 – We have the pleasure to attend an event organized by Athletico Bike Generation on Tuesday, October 27th, who reserved the premiere of the new film “The Program” in ABC Achrafiye, which describes the life of one of the legends of Cycling: Lance ARMSTRONG.
At the end of the film, they showed our video interview on Elias ABOU RACHID who is the 2015 Road and Mountain bike champion and who is pursuing his dream of representing Lebanon at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.

Elias ABOU RACHID with Makram MATTA, the Juniors Champion, both from Athletico Bike Generation Club, introduced themselves after the film and had a very nice speech against doping, which is the main subject of the film.
“With the efforts of our coach Zaher EL HAJJ, who won 12 times the Lebanese title, we were able to improve in this sport and win the titles this year. We improved a lot to a degree that we are able to easily win the Lebanese championships, but for a moment we thought that we are very strong! But when I traveled abroad and saw the real level of competition that I realized that yes, we are strong but we still need a lot of hard work,” said Elias.
And then, he asked the public: “Do you think that if I use the performance enhancing drugs, will I reach an international level?”
Makram also challenged the public saying: “I also was able to win the Lebanese championship this year and then the Lebanese federation wanted to send me to the Arab Championship, but due to complications, a had to overcome a surgery and wasn’t able to compete. I am sure that the other cyclists improved a lot since then and they advanced on me. What do you think, should I also use performance enhancing drugs?”
In the film we noticed how Lance ARMSTRONG fell from the top and lost everything he had gain through cheating.
The film will be in cinemas for about two more weeks, and we encourage every sports lover and athlete to watch this movie which will really push you to hate doping and encourage a clean sport.
