17 Nov. 2015 – Sports Mania is organizing the 2015 Rookies Basketball Challenge, at Centre Demerdjian in Antelias, with many banks and companies participating.
The teams have been divided into 2 conferences, East and West. In the Eastern conference, the teams are BLF, Unifert, Marie France, BUTEC and Byblos Bank. In the Western conference, the teams are Bankmed, Lawyers association, Khoury Home, Wakim Entreprise and Medco.
On Sunday 15th, Lawyers association defeated Medco in 60 to 52. In the first quarter, Lawyers were only leading by one point: 17-16. In the second quarter, they only scored 10 points against 15 for Medco. They made a rebound and came back on the track in the third quarter to score 17 pts against 9 fro Medco. Finally, in the last quarter they scored 16 points to 11 to win the game with 11 points of difference.
Medco best scorer was Elie AKL with 23 points. Lawyers best scorer was Gerard NAJM with 17 points.
On the other hand, Bankmed defeated Khoury Home 59 to 54. Khoury Home was leading in the first quarter with 15 pts to 10 but in the second one they only scored 3 points and Bankmed scored 24! In the third quarter, Bankmed only scored 6 pts against 17 for Khoury Home. Finally, the 4th quarter was the closest with Khoury home scoring 16 and Bankmed scoring 18 points to finally win this round!
Charbel NASR was the best scorer in Khoury Home with 20 pts while, in Bankmed, Maher LOUBIEH was the best scorer with 23 pts.
