05 Dec. 2015 – Many Lebanese triathletes were participating in IRONMAN 70.3 Middle East Championship which was taking place in Bahrain and for the first time ever in the M.E region.
IRONMAN 70.3 is a triathlon that consists of 1.9 kilometers of swimming, 90 kilometers of biking and 21.1 kilometers of running. Today, before race start, the organizers announced that the swim part was cancelled due to heavy winds and currents, therefore participants had to only bike and run.
Here are the Lebanese triathletes results following the end of the race:
Dani Afiouni: 6 hours 4 minutes and 31 seconds
George Baaklini: 4 hours 57 minutes and 48 seconds
Vincent Barouki: 4 hours 47 minutes and 1 second
Charbel Bassil: DNF
Nader Dandachi: 4 hours 53 minutes and 36 seconds
Thierry Depolla: 4 hours 10 minutes and 38 seconds (He broke into the top 10 in his division!)
Rabih Farsoun: 4 hours 43 minutes and 56 seconds
Bertrand Fattal: 6 hours 30 minutes and 42 seconds
Olivier Gemayel: 4 hours 25 minutes and 27 seconds
Hasan Itani: 4 hours 18 minutes and 17 seconds
Tracy Khayat: 5 hours 1 minute and 56 seconds
Robert Khoury: 5 hours 58 minutes and 25 seconds
Michel Matta: Disqualified
JeanKarl Saliba: 6 hours 20 minutes and 47 seconds
Mario Saradar: 5 hours and 56 seconds
All results are according to the official IRONMAN website! The results of the Lebanese athletes who were not mentioned above is not yet announced by the official IRONMAN website.
