02 Apr. 2016 – 10 Amazing young speakers came to Le mall Dbaye today to share their own Inspirational Stories! What moves you is the main question behind the Move For Good initiative by Beirut Marathon Association. Everyone has a unique answer for this question.
What moves us as Sports 961 is the Sports Revolution that can’t be made without the rising generation. The Move For Good Youth edition took place one week before the Bankmed Youth Race 2016.
Corine FREIHA was the first youth to take the stage. She never gave up on sports even after the loss of her sister in a ski accident. What moves her is PASSION. “When I run there is a path opening in front of myself and i could see my future and my dream, and when I jump I feel like I can reach the stars! […] Remember that every finish line is the beginning of whole new race!”
Sadek NASSER SALMAN, an orphan with no father figure still found his way. His goal is to become a professional football player. Epilepsy was the main hurdle standing in his way, but he had the belief of getting better and improve. “Everyone has a goal and they should work really hard for it!”
Mariam HABACH, with her father as a role model, she represents Lebanon, head high and competes in table tennis competitions with older players as well as players from higher categories. “I discovered my passion through my father, through competition I challenge myself and my goal is to qualify for the Olympic Games!
Daniella ASFOUR, dancing since a very young age helped her overcome her fight with cancer at 5 years old. “Dancing helped me a lot during my treatment and took me to a magical place.”
Ralph BOU MALHAB, was born with down syndrome, singing and sports helped him become a very positive extroverted, and friendly child. “What moves me is family, when I run I feel Happy!”
Arz ZAHREDDIN: Losing his leg in an accident at 3 years old, he did not stop him from practicing sports and becoming a fencing champion defeating able athletes. “Imagine yourself growing up without a leg, it wasn’t easy for me to accept my condition but when I did I started winning and achieving great results!”
Saria KEDAMI, the daughter of Ali KEDAMI, she runs and swims to overcome her physical disability caused by epileptic seizures. “What moves me is Challenge, I challenge my self everyday! Nothing stopped my parents of believing in me!”
Montaser HAMIEH, the 5km Lebanese Champion and previous Youth Race champion (14-15), his main support comes from his mother, he refuses to give up on his dream and is working really hard to achieve it! “In the past three years I participated in 70 races and was able to win medal at every race. It is disappointing that in Lebanon we don’t have the support needed to achieve our dreams.”
Mila EL ZEIN, an example that girls can do any kind of sports and reach excellence. “Since I am a child my dream is to become a champion. I participated in many championship but I didn’t win all of them, but I surely learned a lot of experience.”
Tamara ZBIBO, her motto in life is “Determination, defines your destination.” “Sports doesn’t always affect our physical appearances but it actually teaches us the real meaning of dedication and commitment.” The Lebanese football player met her idol, Gerare PIQUEE, which motivated her even more to pursue her dream. “Always remember that you not too young to inspire people”.
The Move 4 Good Youth is a concept by Beirut Marathon, hosted by the young and talented 11 year old, Tala SAKKA. Everyone was moved by those speeches and even by the young host Tala. Their simplicity, dedication and love for sports is unbelievable and so true. Today, they really inspired us!
