27 Sep. 2016 – 13 Lebanese runners as well as our Paralympic Hero Edward Maalouf finished the very famous BMW Berlin Marathon 2016 and achieved amazing results.
Edward Maaouf finished second in his H3 division. He lost in the sprint against Paralympic champion Walter Ablinger and was able to finish 7th overall in 1:06:53. The Paralympic Bronze medalist is always making his country proud by giving the best of himself in international competitions.
On the other hand, the two Inter-Lebanon athletes set amazing performances each. Nadine Kalot, made a great decision with her coach to not to take part in the Lebanese Half Marathon Championship that took place a week before the Berlin Marathon.
Her focus on the 42km payed off! She clocked a personal best of 3:12.35 which place her in the sixth position of the best ever Lebanese Women Marathon runners at the age of 45. She ran nearly equal splits on both Half Marathon sections with 1.36.10 and 1.36.25. She finished 17th in her age group category with over 1600 participants.
