06 Nov. 2016 – The Lebanese Thai Boxing A Class Championship took place today and Somaya Imad Hamwi was crowned national champion in her category.
Somaya, now 25, first started the sport 5 years ago at the age of 20. She began with bau university and then moved to Shogun club to train there. She started her career in the C class and competed and the -80kg weight category. She trained hard for the B class this time in the 75kg category and got second place in the C class. She didn’t stop there, she doubled her efforts later on and set a goal to win the A Class. With her determination and hard work, Somaya Imad Hamwi was able to win the A Class Championship at the -73kg category.
Somaya was living proof today that determination and will along with hard work can get you anywhere. Congrats to Soumaya!
