04 Dec. 2016- Tonight, Riyadi U18 basketball team will be on their way to Turkey to participate in their category’s toughest tournament which kicks off on the 4th of December all the way until the 7th of the same month.
They will compete with teams from Turkey and Russia such as Fenerbahce and Khimki.
Such international tournaments will allow the Lebanese team to gain more experience on the international level.
The technical staff consists of Ahmad Chaker, and Marwan Diab, technical director and head coach respectively.
As for the players, Saleem Alaeddine, Riyadi’s talented player, alongside Ali Younes, Ziad Cheaib, Joseph Nassar, Sobhi Tahan, Nadi Hashem, Elie Dani, Ismael Marzouk, Bassel Takieddine and Mahmoud Ouweida will sacrifice every ounce of blood, sweat and tears to raise the Lebanase flag high.
It is worth mentioning that our two promising youngsters Ahmad Sbaity and Ali Mansour, who are representing Lebanon the best way possible in the United States with Conrad Academy, joined the Lebanese team couple of days ago to help their teammates bring the Gold home. They are definitely an added value to Riyadi. They will head back to the States to chase their dream as soon as their mission with their Lebanese team is over.
However, Karim Zeinoun is ruled out of this competition due to a leg injury.
Finally, we wish our Lebanese champions all the best in their quest for gold.
