23 Sep. 2015- Palestine played their opening game in FIBA Asia‘s group B today to score a historical win by defeating one of the title contenders 2 points. Palestine defeated Philippines 75-73 after the amazing performance of Sakakini and Abu Shamala.
In the first quarter everyone thought that the game will be one sided as Philippines took a 15 points of advantage. Palestine bounced back in the second quarter scoring 10 points more than Philippines to reduce the gab to 5 points at halftime! Sakakini and Abu Shamala refused to give up and scored a historical win over ranked 33 in Asia.
Abu Shamala was the scorer of the game with 26 points, the best rebounder with 15 rebounds and have made 3 assists!
