13 Jan. 2017 – The Lebanese Futsal League continues in its 17 round with a very heated game between the Lebanese Army and Achrafieh Youth Club.
Besides, on Saturday, AUST welcome Choueifat at 7:00 PM. The away team will try to forget the loss of the previous week against the Lebanese Army. They will be looking forward to grab those three precious points, thus reinforcing their 4th position. In addition, the home team are not having one of their best seasons, so the odd swing in their opponents’ favor. In fact, AUST are currently at the bottom of the league table with only 5 points and their chances of making it to the Final 8 are slim to none. Choueifat had won the first match up 2-1.
The round continues on Sunday with two games taking place. Most notably, the much anticipated game where the Lebanese Army go up against Achrafieh Youth Club. The game will take place in the Emile Lahoud Stadium at 5:00 PM. Both teams have been delivering outstanding performances this season. They currently occupy the 2nd and third place with respectively 31 and 21 points. Each of the two teams has more than one rabbit they can pull out of their hats to grab the win. On one hand, Achrafieh can rely on the goal scoring abilities of their top scorer and the second top scorer of the league, Kamel Elias. On the other hand, the Lebanese Army will depend on the skills of their lead scorer Amin Kobaisy. The first game that opposed these two team ended in a 1-1 draw.
Finally, Sayda Freedom go up against South Sporting in the Nabih Berri Stadium at 5:00 PM. Sayda Freedom seem one step closer to grabbing the win as they currently occupy the 7th place with 15 points. On the other hand, their opponents are currently 8th with 9 points. Anything could still happen in this face off as the first game ended in a draw (1-1).
This round had already started with a huge 6-1 win for the current leaders Bank of Beirut against Tripoli Fayhaa.
